COSTUME, Dance, Dolly Varden-style, 'La Parisien'

DANCE COSTUME and matching parasol
[.1] DRESS, long, coral coloured with multiple layers of frills and a panel of gold lace down the front. Bodice fitted and off shoulder with straps to hold in place. Collar and sleeves with flounces ending with ornate gold lace. Bodice embellished with five gold bows and fabric flowers in mauve and green. A bunch of fabric flowers in pink, mauve and green & gold glitter, is attached on the left hand side at the waist and has ribbons of the same colours cascading down to the hem. A large gold bow is attached at the back below the opening, which is closed with a set of three hooks and eyes. The hips are extended with wire to form a bussle. 'D. ASHTON' is printed in ink on the inside of the back bodice. Two metal safety pins are pinned to the off shoulder flounce
[.2] HAT, 'Dolly Varden', gold lame hat lined with gold lace matching the dress with a row of mauve, pink, green and blue fabric flowers which decorate the inside rim. A large, pink bow is secured over the ear on the left side. Some glitter remains on the inside and outside of the hat. [D.ASHTON' is handwritten on the inside crown.
[.3] PARASOL with matching coral flounces, gold bows and mauve, green, pink and blue ribbons on a silver painted frame. A frill of coral fabric is attached at hand level
