Children's book, 'ELVES & FAIRIES', illustrated by Ida Rentoul Outhwaite, verses written by Annie Rentoul, published by The Lothian Book Publishing Coy. Pty. Ltd. Melbourne and Sydney. Large, 'De Luxe' 1 of 1000 copies. 1st edition of 1916. 15 colour and 30 black and white plates. 117 pages long excluding list of subscribers and addenda at the back which reflect prominent Australian subscribers at the time. Size 'grand Imperial quarto'. Cover green linen with green leather spine, trimmed with discrete gold leaves and title 'ELVES/FAIRIES' embossed in gold. Inside cover, back and front, has green and cream decorative paper. Subequent pages include 'THIS BOOK BELONGS/TO/ETHEL HASSELL/3 NOVEMBER 1916' written in ink and a dedication page illustrated with a fairy presenting a book to a koala with 'A.G.O' on it.
