CASE, visiting card, with handwritten note, Francis James Anderson

[.1] Visiting card case; Slim roughly square, hinged box to contain cards. 'A.H.H/September 1921/ P.J.A.' engraved on lid. Inside is gilded and has guides for cards and a catch to close. Two hall marks one each side depict an anchor, lion and a V. Another mark is 'WHCo&'
[.2] note, handwritten in ink, dated Albany 19/7/1897; explanation of the stones mounted in Katie Clifton’s silver bracelet. Note reads:
'The stones in this bracelet/ were all taken from the cranes/ or gizzards of large birds called/ Syras Cranes, natives of East India/ The birds were shot by sergeant/ Major A Matthews. R. A(?) & the/ stones taken out of the cranes/ by him set & polished by a/ native in Caurupore(?). The truth/ of this statement can be verified by Officers names below:/ Col: Battisscombe Ra/ Capt. Blackett Ra/ Lieuts Frost Ra/ x Now Captain/ Davidson Ra/ Doctor Young A.M.D/ A Matthews. Sergt Major/ M. V(?) & P.A.V.s/ Albany/ 19.7(?).84'.
