Small, rectangular, 'SUBSTATION EQUIPMENT HANDBOOK' work manual with black vinyl cover. Title is printed on cover with yellow printing. Also in yellow on bottom right side of cover 'ENGINEERING DIVISION/ POSTMASTER GENERAL'S DEPARTMENT.' Stuck above this is red adhesive label with white lettering 'A. MILES.' Another label stuck above main title reads 'SOOBI. THE WOODEN SPOONERS.' Handbook was updated with regular printed instalments that were placed over two metal posts and held in place by a flap of vinyl that formed the spine of the manual and secured with two press-studs .
