Square metal plate adhered to wooden veneer-like base. Plate features the outline of three circles, two of which form the border of the circle - within this band are the words 'EDUCATION DEPARTMENT/ PERTH.W.A.'. At the centre is the Western Australian Coat of Arms; in a shield, a swan on water flanked by two kangaroos holding it and surmounted by a crown.
