BOTTLE, cylindrical clear glass, with black plastic cap, black and red label. Label inscribed 'HARPER'S/ EXPRESS/ TERPENE LESS/ LEMON / ESSENCE/ ROBERT HARPER & CO. LTD./ (Incorporated in Victoria) AUSTRALIA/ 4ozs.NET'.
Commercial marks imprinted on base '5/ G/ M/ G 322/ M'.
Bottle contains dried remnants of lemon essence in base.
Two side seams to mouth. Screw top lid. Machine made, post 1903.
'5 [letters 'a' and 'm' in boxed monogram]/ G 322/ M' embossed on base. The 'a' and 'm' monogram used by Australian Glass Manufacturer's Ltd after 1930. (ref: Dept of Planning & Heritage Council NSW, Early Australian Commercial Glass, 1988, p. 176).
