Personal refernce, hand-written in ink on off-white paper. The reference, undated, was written by Ethel M. Boys on behalf of Richard Charles Young, and refers to her having known him for 12months 'And that he is possessor/ of a very fine character and is/ both sober and trustworthy.' She concludes 'It gives me great pleasure/ to recommend him to a position/ where the safety of children is concerned.' At the bottom of the letter she writes : 'Late./ Central Infants School/ Boulder City.' (It is not clear whether Richard, Ethel or both were lately of this school).
