On the cover of the books is 'Waterside Workers' / Federation of / Australia / Fremantle Branch / W.A.'. All of the membership books look alike, a dark green/black cover, which has a sort of a water-wave taffeta look. (B) belonged to Frederick Mitchell, no 682 of Bicton from December 1952 to 1957. (C) belonged to D.A. Gillan from 1957 to 1963. (D) belonged to J. Dempster no. 434, from 1961-1962. The members were expected to present these books when paying contributions to the union, and were supposed to take them to the branch meetings also. The books included useful phone numbers for the members to know eg. the union office.
