Pencil sketch on white paper. Dominated by inscription: 'AMALGAMATION/ BY CHOICE/ NOT/ FORCE'. Under the words 'by choice' are a pair of hands, one extending horizontally from each side of the image. Each hand is held at the wrist by a dark, muscular hand, positioned vertically. A chain extends between the horizontal hands. A grid is marked out around the whole image. A simple sketch plan of the image is located above it on the paper. The sketch is signed: 'LS 89'.
