Photograph framed with glass front and dark wooden frame. Frame raised slightly from photograph. Around the inside of the frame a fine coat of gold paint. The photograph shows 23 men, some dressed in cricket uniform, others in suits (some with, some without ties). The men are placed in three rows, and seated on wooden benches, (front and back rows). The floor is vinyl, and the backdrop appears to be painted. The text is handwritten in ink and coloured ink. Some text lettering is coloured in and underlined, other text is not. The text reads 'Fremantle Lumpers Cricket Club M.C. Assn./ Runners up season 1939-40/ Presented to The Fremantle Lumpers Union/ as a token of appreciation for services rendered/ F.R. Peterson/ Fremantle/ J. Mustard. S Ryan. H Harper. JJ Daly. W Holt. TC Winton. RJ Williams. T Back/ W. Sullivan [Trustee]./ A. Ashton. H Clark. C Jennings[Captain]. JH Twonsend [Patron]. W Beattie [President]. S Nutt [Vice Capt.] W Truscott. J Andrews' Pencil impressions can be seen underneath the printed text.
The back of the photograph is lined with adhesive tape and the back is covered in white cardboard (relatively new). There are now two metal hooks and string fixed to the back, with adhesive tape holding the excess string, and sticking it to the band of string running across the photograph.
