TYPEWRITER, Underwood

H1993.23

A large, roughly box-shaped typewriter. Its internal workings are quite complex with many intricate mechanical actions that are spring loaded or driven by cogs. The machine was designed so the typist could actually see what was being typed unlike earlier models of typewriters.
