DEBENTURE CERTIFICATE

H1993.175

Collection of debenture certificates (numbers 51-90), with two sheets of coupons (numbers 51 and 52). These debenture certificates were issued by the Fremantle and District Trades' Hall Industrial Association of Workers in 1909. On maturity in 1913 the bearer would receive 5. They were apparently issued for the purpose of renovating the Fremantle Trades Hall in Collie Street Fremantle. The coupons which were attached to the debenture sheet were to be produced at the Trades Hall on the first day of June and December every year until the debenture matured, and an interest payment of 2/6 had to be paid at that time. There were 10 coupons in total.
