Cake of Bon Ami cleanser in a yellow and red printed wrapper. On the front there are 2 illustrations: a newly hatched chicken and half a shell, and a woman polishing a window with a cloth. Across the front 'BON AMI', and above: 'POLISHES/ AS IT CLEANS/ 9 1/12 OZ. NET'. On lower half: 'FOR ALL/ HOUSEHOLD CLEANING' and the motto: 'HASN'T SCRATCHED YET!'. Side wrapper flaps are marked: 'BON AMI/ FOR ALL HOUSEHOLD CLEANING' and 'THE QUICK, EASY CLEANSER/ FOR/ WINDOWS, MIRRORS, BATHTUBS, SINKS,/ REFRIGERATORS, WINDSHIELDS, ETC.'. Directions for cleaning various items are given on the reverse. The cleanser is usually applied with a damp cloth and rubbed off to give a shine. Label is lettered 'THE BON AMI CO. OF AUSTRALIA PTY. LTD, SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA'. Bairds Catalogue lists cost of cake as 1/4, one shilling and four pence.
