KITE

H1989.968

Kite is in the shape of a fish. It is white with a red fish painted on, and has a fin along the edge and the bottom is cut in the shape of a tail. There is a piece of wire in the top to hold it in a round shape. There are three eyelets just below the wire; string is attached to these and tied in the centre. There is a square piece of aluminium and a pin attached to the string. There is a round piece of silver glued to make the eye of each fish. This is a large and attractive kite. The kite together with a number of other articles was presented to the Western Australian Government following the Sister State agreement in 1981. They came from the Hyogo Exhibition in Japan. They were displayed in the Beaufort St Gallery for a number of years.
