SHIP IN BOTTLE
H1989.550
Two ships set in plasticine with town in background. All enclosed in a bottle. The scene is not very attractive and the modelling appears to be of poor quality. The smaller ship has a funnel belching black smoke. It also has two masts. The hull is painted black, and the cabin structure grey. The second ship has three masts and a long bowsprit. The hull is painted grey and the timber is varnished. Behind the ships are a series of wooden buildings. There is a windmill, church, lighthouse, and eleven houses. There is also a long object which may be a train. A number of trees dot the foreground. The buildings are a mixture of grey and orange. Each of the objects is set in green contured plasticine which covers the edge of the bottle from just in front of the ships to above the houses. The bottle is stoppered with a cork sealed with a black glue.
