FIRE TIN
H1989.520
Kerosene tin. Upper cover with punched holes (1cm and about 4cm apart). Original handle in centre. Large hole where pourer and cup were originally. Bottom of can has been cut away. 13cm square hole made about 5cm from the top, on one side. 13cm square flap pressed down at bottom of opening. Four holes punched 10cm from the top around the side. Found during archaeological survey carried out by Jack McIlroy 1.4.89 - 2.4.89 for the MOG at Coonana Sandalwood Reserve. Map Ref: 1. 100,000 roe Map Sheet Grid: Ref 80858. Modified kerosene tin used as a fire tin for heating soldering irons.
