S.S.W. "Hot-press" Designed to mould thermoplastic materials into dentures. One of the earliest was a material called Hecolith - later Neo-hecoligh. These materials were supplied in blarbs. There were many problems - see note from Prinz in R.G. Oldfields material. These materials were superceded by acrylic resin, beginning just around the outbreak of W.W. 2. Plaque reads "S.S. WHITE DRY HEAT PRESS / PATENT PENDING / VOLTS 220-40 AMPS 4 / SERIAL NO E 1876 / MADE IN ENGLAND BY / THE S.S. WHITE CO OF GT. BRITAIN LTD / UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF THE S.S. WHITE DENTAL M FG CO." Used at dental practice in York.
