Turkey plate with gravy drain. "standard" willow pattern i.e. 3 men crossing bridge, tea shop, boat, willow tree, 2 birds and fence in the foreground. Also an orange tree. Follows pattern probably first introduced by Spode from elements of Chinese designs. Printed in underglaze royal blue. Bluish glaze. Stands on 6 feet. Marks: printed in underglaze blue,' (scroll) \ STONE WARE \ B & T '; and impressed, 'STONE WARE \ B & T.' Probably Blackhurst & Tunnicliffe, Burslem, c 1879. Although there were other potteries with these initials in Staff. Not described in Godden. Refs. R. Copeland, Spode's Willow Pattern, page 33 & Godden, Encyclopaedia, page 79 no. 401.
