White flannel square, shaped with flat pleats at top. Arm holes formed with narrow cream silk ribbon, which also binds edges at top and sides. Hem trimmed with handworked coral stitch in cream silk thread. Narrow machine lace trim at hem. All machine-sewn. Worn by one of the Brierley children. Known as a barrow or flannel.
