"Pair old Chinese porcelain Dishes decorated with "Dogs of Fo" (defenders of Temples & Buddhist altars) and floral border. Kea-King period." Central design mainly red & gilt with some yellow & green. Floral border multi-coloured, some famille rose. Colours lighter on b. Ref. Gulland (1911: 82) for Dogs of Fo. (Have metal brackets fo hanging on wall.) Ann Roberts: A pair of 'famille-rose' Dishes, each with a pair of Buddhist lio playing with ribboned brocade balls in the centre, within a floral garland and sprays on the everted rim encircled with a gilt spearhead border.
