Soup plate. Blue and White printed pattern around edge and in centre. Central pattern of countryside and church with group of women. Base mark in u glaze blue "SYRIA \ C & F \ GLASGOW." Cochran and Fleming, Glasgow potters, ma 1896 to 1920 - probably more likely to be early period. Nairn No. 89. Ref. Godden, Encyclopaedia, 1964, page 158, nos. 968-9.
