Markings: 'THE ROYAL HUMANE SOCIETY/OF AUSTRALIA'; and 'At a General Court of Directors holden at the Offices of the Society Melbourne on the Twentieth day of December 1943 IT WAS RESOLVED That the Courage and Humanity displayed by Edward F. Graham Kalgoorlie (W.A.), Miner, aged 33 years, in the attempting to rescue three comrades, from poisonous gas in a winze in the Great Boulder Mine Fimiston (W.A.), on July 17, 1943, Call for the admiration of this Court and justly entitle him to the Silver Medal of this Society which is hereby awarded'.
