Designed and executed by M. Blonstein, Jeweller, Perth. Shield inscribed: "Presented to the Right Honourable, Sir John Forrest K.C.M.G. Premier of the Colony of Western Australia by Municipality of Norseman on the occasion of his first visit to the Norseman Goldfields and as a token of his many valuable services rendered to the Colony. C.C. Bennett Leigh Mayor 10th May 1898".
