Offshore Hyball ROV

The Offshore Hyball ROV is an upgraded version of an earlier vehicle - the Hyball. The Offshore Hyball possesses higher power and improved power supplies, lighting and video. Both the Offshore Hyball and the Hyball share the unique feature of a patented meridian view port that allows the internally mounted camera(s) to tilt, allowing for a 360-degree view. Panning of the camera is achieved by rotating the vehicle, which can turn on its own axis. The Offshore Hyball ROV is an excellent vehicle for vessel inspections.

Some of the features of the Offshore Hyball include:

  • 300 metre rated (1000ft)
  • 14 lb payload (6.5kg)
  • Weight in air: 60 kg (132lbs)

The ROV was donated to Challenger Institute of Technology in 2009 by Sbec ROV Services.
