Son of Stefano Zappia and Giuseppina Catalano. One of the first, Italian migrants to settle in the Harvey area, later sponsoring many others to emigrate. Briefly returned to Italy in 1936 to marry Carmela Barbaro. Within the Harvey Region became a well known market gardener with his high quality produce.
