Edwin (Ted) served in the British Royal Navy during WW2. He married Joan on 5/3/1949. Arriving in Australia, they settled in the country town of Pinjarra. There Ted built up a successful building business. After returning to England for 2 years 1970-72, the family finally settled in Perth.
