Oliver's wife Evelyn arrived in Western Australia on the Bendigo in 1927. Both Oliver & Evelyn came from fishing families. They were married New Years Day 1927 at St George's Cathedral. They went bush within the Denmark area & lived in a tent. Oliver became a good horseman.
