My father was a joiner-carpenter and tradesmen were needed after the war. We were sent to Point Walter Hostel. Later Dad purchased a block of land in Point Walter Road where he built our house. He helped to build the Port of Fremantle Terminal.

  • Panel 456. Wiltshire family being husband and wife Ernest John and Ivy Irene Wiltshire (née Pink) and their children John Victor Arthur and Janet Shirley Wiltshire. 1949 on the “Cheshire”, John aged 6 and Janet (my mother) aged 5.
They went on to have another 4 children. Farmed in Grass Patch near Esperance from about 1962 for about 15 years. Janet married prior to this and remained in Perth and John had left home also prior to the farm days.
