RJL (John) Williams was the first Welsh speaking member of the WA Parliament. He was elected to the Legislative Council and represented The Metropolitan Province from 1971 - 1989. He was also the inaugural chairman of the WA Drug & Alcohol Authority. Both are/were outstanding Welsh Vocalists.
