Piet & Aagje Wieman emigrated to WA to give their twelve children better opportunities. Piet sold their shop and home in Holland to enable them to pay for the boat trip and to build a home here. Their children are very grateful for the sacrifices made for them.

My father, Joop van Stralen, 83 years, wrote about this family in his biography. He worked on this ship and he had contact with Ali and Leni during their voyage. He remembers that they had a knittingmachine on board and that they wanted to teach other people how to use it.
