She taught English in Hendon County Secondary School, London and at the end of WWI was engaged to Lt EJ Whitaker who did not leave the RAOC until 1922. He migrated to WA in Sept 1922. She followed and was married in St Georges Cathedral, Perth She started to teach at PLC. Later Kobeelya at Katanning then to Sydney in 1958.
