Read their story

Sam Wende was born in Izbica Kujawsko, Poland. He fled to Germany to escape 25 year conscription in the army. Worked in Germany, Argentina, Palestine & France, where he stowed away on the Ville de Strasbourg for Australia. He became a wool buyer, married Gittel Fishman in 1930 & together they had three children, Les, Esther & Fay. Favourite saying "You don't know what a golden country Australia is."
