Born in Newcastle Upon Tyne England, married Violet Parkinson in Perth WA. Both arrived on the first train to Pingrup WA and established and operated the Pingrup General Store initially from a rail car from 1927 to 1947. Son Robert awarded the DFC as a RAAF pilot in WW2.
