Migrated six months before wife Elizabeth and son Rudolf in order to earn sufficient to pay for their fares. Worked as a bricklayer, building his own house. Became a Community Welfare Officer in 1960. Together with Elizabeth he founded the 1st Morley Scout and Cub groups.
