Andrew flew with Royal Flying Corp as a carpenter during WW1. Later he joined Prudential Insurance. Doctors suggested a change would benefit his nervous condition (due to war) so he migrated to Australia. Employed as carpenter on a coalmine in Collie and in 1952 retired to South Perth.
