Im also a decendent of Robert Waters & his brother Thomas who settled in Guildford and started Olive Farm Winery. Thomas arrived in 1829 and was a Botanist - I believe he drowned in the Swan River.
Spring Gardens homestead was built by Robert Waters then taken over by his son Richard Waters who passed it to his son Robert who held it until his death in the late 1980s. It was off Picnic Hill Rd Toodyay West and has now been sold off into lots of housing and part of the road renamed Waters Road in memory of the Waters Family.

I am the 3 time removed grand son of Robert waters to Herbert waters and Shirley waters born to Edwin Waters and Doreen Water. Herbert Waters inherited spring gardens from Robert after his passing. Spring gardens was always in lot form as each generation added land to the family's holding. The road leading into spring gardens was named to recognize the first people to settle in that perticular location. Shortley before Herbert waters passing spring gardens was sold off in its individual lots, as for the original spring gardens lot it starts from the fresh water spring located left of the main gate and runs directly up to the rear hill side.
