Theodara Shellabear's brother, married and had 3 children. Practiceing to climb Himalayas, walked with heavy pack, took dogs with him on walks, his wife's dog got on railway line, went to pull dog off and both he and dog run over about 2 weeks before Christmas. His friend Doug Noakes climbed the mountain and took my brother Viv's ashes and sprinkled them there.
“Ken Vos came as child evacuee. accompanied by a chaperon, from England in 1940. He later flew solo from England to Australia in the single engine monoplane ‘Emeraude' which took two weeks. Losing fuel on the way, he refueled in Darwin. An inspection in Broome revealed the fuel pipe hanging by a thread. Ken landed in Perth on 26/10/64. Later in life he prepared to climb Mt Everest. One day, whilst Ken practiced walking with a heavy pack, one of his dogs ran on a railway line. Ken tried to save her, but both were run over. A friend, Doug Noakes, did the climb and scattered Ken's ashes. (words of Mrs Theo Shellabear)'.

I met Ken in 1967 at the Elsinore California drop zone. We were both skydivers. He was a generous lovely man. I went to Australia with him and met his sister and wonderful friends. I am so grateful for this post about his passing. I am in shock and now I understand why there were no replies to my letters. My heart goes out to his wife, daughters and family. This is a tragic loss. He is missed by many all over the world. Aloha dear Viv and thank you for everything.

I have two beautifully bound books that appear to have been associated with the Ken Vos in the above Welcome Wall stories. Are they of value to anyone or any organisation?
