Born in Cassano Caudino Province of Avellino. Parents - Ferdinando & Emilia. Five siblings - Giovanni, Marcello, Mafalda, Lucia, Giuseppina & Maria. Worked the land before joining the military fighting in WWII. Joined the Carbinieri. Coal mine worker in Belgium. Travelled to Australia one year ahead of his family to commence a new life.
