Served two years military service in Italy. Came on cargo ship to join brothers, Leo & Albert. Worked as labourer in several SW towns, before purchasing a property in Kirup where he grew potatoes, vegies, grape vines & fruit. In 1944 married Rosa Di Masi. Had five children: Connie, Phillip, Silvia, Joyce & Luisa. Carmelo died in 1988. Rosa now resides in Australind.
