Neil ( for Cornelis) left home aged 18, and worked in England, Spain, South Africa, Java, and finally Western Australia. In 1926 he married Elfrida McCubbing, working as an accountant, and raising sons Bob, Jan & Peter. The Family settled in Cottesloe in 1943, where Neil died in 1974, aged 87.
