Arrived in Fremantle with parents Henk and Elizabeth Van Houwelingen as a 5 1/2 yr old boy. Stayed in Ellen St Fremantle for first 18 mnths and started school. Then resettled to Willagee in a state housing commission home on the cnr of Garling and Indle Sts and attended a new school called Carrawatha.
