On arrival went to Shackleton on a bus and worked in a shop with some Dutch people cleaning & cooking. Married Cornelius Vandenberg in May 1954 and lived in a house consisting of a kitchen, bedroom and back verandah with a bathroom. Lived in Shackleton for 37 years and then moved to Perth. Descendants include 3 children, 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
