Arrived at Fremantle at age of 17 yrs and joined brother to work as woodchopper in Lakewood for gold mines in Kalgoorlie. In 1943 he came to Swan Valley, married and purchased vineyard which he worked until the time of his death in 2001, aged 81 yrs.
