Joyce settled in Osborne Park with her parents and worked for the Lands & Survey's Department until she married. Later she worked as a colourist of black & white photos. She had three children, Debbie, Peter and Lauren. She is an accomplished dressmaker and lives in retirement in Albany, Western Australia.
