Alexander Thomson joined the group settlement district of Sussex near Busselton in Sept. 1926. His wife Jemima and 15mth old son Robert arrived on the BENALLA. They remained on Balbordie Mains for 10 years until the depression and Jemima's ill health forced them off the land.
