We sailed past Rottnest and thought it was Australia, "didn't seem very big". Left Southampton November 18th, freezing cold, arrived December 14th, first Xmas in WA temp was 105 degrees, New Years Day 109 degrees. We were driven out to our accommodation in the back of a ute. The whole family of Dad, Mum and three teenage boys were placed in new migrant flats surrounded by sand. It was so hot, we took turns to go to the garbage bin.
