Barbara and James had two children. Their son Mark became a prospector and explorer, and later, a professional speaker as a paleontologist on the subject of dinosaurs. He and his wife Kelly have a son Kai. Their daughter Julie married musician Alistair Watson and is a writer of historical novels.
