Scottish migrants, Joe born at Kilmarnock and Margaret born at Troon. Joe had come to Australia in 1928 as a single man. He helped farmers clear land in both Wickepin and Kulin. Returned to Scotland to assist family during the Depression. Joined British Army (Highland Light Infantry). Saw action in India (NW Frontier).
