Grace & Alfred Lawrence were engaged in 1908. They married two days after her arrival in Western Australia and lived on "Sturry" farm in a very basic humpy. The farmland was cleared from virgin bush. Their surviving sons each built a family empire themselves. They had five sons, three married and produced eleven grandchildren.
