Herbert James and Emily Selina married in London in 1889. Reginald (1894 - 1972) and Eustace (1896 - 1987) were born in Fremantle. 1897 the family returned to England, where father died. The family returned to Fremantle in 1903. Emily married JB Conway before WW1. Upon returning from WW1 the Sykes men farmed in Kondinin.
